Hey! I’m Wilman and I’ll be working alongside my friend Ethan to run this project! Ethan and I have been friends for almost 12 years and we are both rising juniors in high school. While catching up a few months ago, we realized that we were both interested in the business world, but we did not have any understanding of the different positions and their roles in creating and running a thriving business.

We turned to platforms such as YouTube and Instagram to learn more. However, the content we found revolved primarily around how to be a successful entrepreneur, or highlighted, daily tasks rather than providing information and explanations regarding the professions themselves. This led us to the creation of Business Career Compass, a student-led initiative dedicated to providing high schoolers with a detailed understanding of the various careers within the business world. 

At Business Career Compass, we aim to educate students through a series of biweekly blogs and interviews with industry professionals. In our interviews, we will cover questions such as:

• What does you job entail?

• What does it take to be successful in your position?

• What are the prerequisites of entering this career?

• In your industry, what qualities are recruiters looking for when hiring?

• What advice would you give students who are interested in business and finance for them to geta head start on their careers?
